Payment Methods

Customers of the North Salt Spring Waterworks have several options to choose from when paying their bills.

Please note that to avoid paying a penalty all payments must reach the District office by 4:00 p.m. on the due date.  Our Debit & Credit Card Policy and Penalty Waiver Policy can be viewed in the documents section of this website.

1. Mail-in payments – cheque only

2. Walk-in payments – cash, cheque, credit or debit card

Call the office at:

We will gladly accept post-dated cheques.

Please Note:  There is a 3% Administration Charge for credit or debit card payments over $1,000.  Please refer to our Debit & Credit Card Payment Policy for details.

3. Walk-in payments – after hours – cheque only

We have a drop slot next to the office door at:

761 Upper Ganges Road at Central

4. Website payment

You can pay online through most of Canada’s major banks and trust companies.  Log on to your personal bank’s webpage and set us up as a “payee”. Please note that you have two accounts with us; one for water and the other for the annual parcel tax, so you will need to set up two payment accounts.  Depending on which bank you use, you may have to add an additional zero (0) at the front-end of your account number to meet their software needs.

Please note that on your parcel tax assessment/invoice the Roll (Folio) # is your Account # – drop the 764 prefix when signing up online and don’t use the period.

5. Telephone payment

Bills can be paid using the telephone banking system.

Note:  We appreciate that occasionally a ratepayer may experience difficulty in paying their bills.  Please call our Accounting Clerk, Tammy Lannan, to discuss payment terms.
